The judges have started to be announced for this year’s North West Family Business Awards. Amongst them are Jonnie Whittle, Client Service Director at Traditum who is from Wigan and Laura Sieczkowski, Managing Director of Mantle Packaging based in Clitheroe.
Siemens will host the judging day in Manchester on Monday 10th March when all the judges get together to decide who the finalists will be across all categories. Following this judge’s visits take place where all the finalists will get the chance to demonstrate why their family business is a worthy winner.
Entries for the awards close on Monday 3rd March, so there is still time for businesses to enter the awards or nominate someone that they feel deserves to be recognised for their contribution. Entries and nominations are made online via the website https://www.northwestfamilybusinessawards.co.uk/
The awards ceremony will be held on Friday 9th May 2025, at the iconic Titanic Hotel in Liverpool and promises to be an unforgettable evening dedicated to celebrating the remarkable contributions of family businesses in the North West.
The theme for this year’s awards has just been announced which is ‘Origin’ – the foundation of every story—the point where it all began. For family businesses, it’s more than a starting point; it’s a legacy built on values, vision, and resilience, passed down through generations. Every origin tells a story of perseverance, adaptation, and lasting impact.
What makes the North West Family Business Awards unique is its dedication to creativity and local talent. The awards feature bespoke trophies crafted by regional artists, designers, and makers, while performances from local talent add a special flair to the evening.
Co-hosting the awards with Family Business Community founders Sue Howorth and Dave Clarkson, will be renowned food and drink broadcaster and writer, Nigel Barden who works on the Simon Mayo Drivetime Show on Greatest Hits Radio and specialises in promoting British ingredients and artisan producers, particularly in his role as chairman of judges for The Great Taste Awards and as a host at Tom Kerridge’s “Pub in the Park” festivals.
